Division of Labor Among Components in the Production Process of the Japanese-Model 89 Used High-Frequency Pipe Making Machine
The Japanese-Model 89 used pipe mill operates as a sophisticated, integrated production line where each major component executes a specialized, sequential task to transform steel coil into finished welded pipe. Understanding the distinct role of each section is crucial for operating, maintaining, and optimizing this refurbished system, which is designed for a versatile output range (round: Φ38-95mm, square: 30x30-75x75mm) at speeds up to 100 M/min.
1. Material Handling and Preparation Section:
This initial stage ensures a continuous and controlled supply of raw material. It begins with the double-side 180º rotary pneumatic uncoiler, which holds and pays off the steel coil. Its design allows for alternating coil feeding to minimize downtime. The subsequent horizontal accumulator is a critical buffer. Its primary function is to store a substantial length of steel strip, mechanically decoupling the uncoiling process from the main mill. This allows operators to stop the uncoiler for coil threading or end-welding while the forming section continues to draw material from the accumulated loop, enabling truly continuous production without interruption—a key factor for efficiency.
2. Core Forming, Welding, and Sizing Section:
This is the transformative heart of the used pipe mill, with the forming/welding/sizing machine noted as imported from Japan. The forming machine (6 horizontal stands, 5 vertical stands with Φ58mm/Φ40mm shafts) progressively shapes the flat strip into a cylindrical tube. Immediately after, the guiding and extruding unit aligns the seam and applies precise pressure to close the edges perfectly for welding. The 200KW solid-state high-frequency welder (U.S. Thermatool brand) then performs the crucial metallurgical join, creating a strong longitudinal seam. Following welding, the scraper removes the external bead, and the cooling tank quenches the pipe. The sizing machine (3 horizontal, 3 vertical stands) then performs precision cold-calibration to achieve the final exact dimensions and geometry. Finally, the integrated Turk's head straightening device provides initial online straightening for improved pipe straightness.

3. Cutting, Discharge, and Final Handling Section:
After sizing and straightening, the continuous pipe enters the finishing stage. The hot saw, equipped with a servo controller, is responsible for cutting the pipe to precise, customer-specified lengths. It is capable of handling the full output range up to Φ95mm diameter and 3.0mm wall thickness. Finally, the run-out table (with single-side kick-out discharge) conveys the cut finished pipes. This section serves as a cooling, handling, and staging platform, allowing for the orderly collection, inspection, and bundling of the final product before packaging or further processing.
In summary, this used pipe mill functions as a seamlessly coordinated system. The uncoiler and accumulator manage material logistics, the central imported mill section executes the complex shaping, welding, and calibration processes, and the hot saw with run-out table handles the final sizing and preparation for dispatch. The effective synchronization of these specialized parts is what enables this pre-owned production line to reliably manufacture a broad spectrum of quality tubular products.
